Good Colocation Firm ?
I'm preparing to leave the company I am with, and I have a server set up here on a 9mbit pipe. I'm looking for other options,
but it seems that if they aren't over $200/month, there is a latency issue and/or general bandwidth issue. Can any of you recommend a company that will rent/accept a colocated server for under $200/month, that has great customer service, and is on a fat pipe ? I may be dreaming, but it sure would be nice :D |
check out www.rackspace.com
Not sure of the pricing, but their commercials are on all the time so they are on the ball |
FANATICAL SUPPORT. Jesus, I've seen far too many rackspace commercials on TechTV.

depends on what you want, reackspace does not do colocation, they do dedicated servers though, but I so did not like dealing with them on the phone.....
I would recommend valueweb, they are a very large hosting company with great priceing, the only thing is they do not support backups, so you would have to download it to either anouther pc at home/work or buy anouther dedicated server and have it running as a backup or something to that extent... http://www.valueweb.com/dedicated/dedicated-hosting.htm |
I came across valuweb while searching.
steveincolumbus have you dealt with them ? What is your impression ? |
Well I never moved services to there, i know people that do have accounts there...
I got laid off do to downsizing before they relocated. But talking to them on the phone, they were nice have tons of companies hosted there, and have major backbone connections. I spoke with 20+ hosts in looking to relecate our services, we were looking for a dedicated server insted of a colocate but they seemed to be the best choice for us...... |
I've heard good things about pair.com
