Laptop Battery Light
 

I have a Toshiba laptop and tonight it has started haveing a flashing battery indicator on the front panel. I am Guessing that this is trying to tell me that my battery is shot but i hope not.... I don't want to have to shell out $75 for a new battery.........

My ? to you is has anyone else had this happen or know for sure what it would mean?

Depending on what model it is, it could mean anything. My room mate's used to flash when it was charging.

Without the model info. there's no telling what it could be. Try looking on the toshiba support website and see what they have.

It is a Satellite Pro 4300, and has never flashed before...
But not only does it flash but it will do it for a few sec then go off...
While flashing windows sees a 16% charge, then when it goes off it says no battery...

Setting here looking for a new battery now, so also if some one has any suggestions as to where would have a good price.
and has anyone ever rebuilt a battery for a laptop?

I had a Compaq laptop that did the same thing, real irregular flashing. Sent them an email and found out the battery was toast and needed to be replaced. It was only 6 months old so they sent me a new one free. I'd check with Toshiba and see for sure what your flashing means.

Should have checked the warrenty to see if the battery was replaceable for free within a certain period of time...

But 78 bucks is pretty good eh?

2 year old laptop, doubt it would be, but I didn't buy it so I know it wouldn't be....
