Essential Mac software
Fuck Windows. I've had it with all that horseshit. I ordered my new computer for school today. I got a 15" PowerBook with SuperDrive, 1.25 Ghz G4, 80 GB, Airport Extreme, Gigabit Ethernet, 512 MB, Radeon 9600 Graphics (I think), and a Bluetooth mouse. What is some essential software that I should download/buy? Emphasis is placed on the downloadable (not P2P) stuff, as I am broke as fuck. I'm open to everything, from small tweaks, to utilities, to pretty much anything else.
So far, I've downloaded Unstoppable Progress, with fills your progress window with water as the bar fills up (it looks kinda cool....) and DVDBackup, which is a free and very powerful DVD archival tool. It comes recommened by Leo Laporte. Pop a DVD in and play it with the built in DVD player, DVDBackup reads and caches the encryption key, and then you can write a non copy protected, region free DVD!! Any help would be much appreciated!
