stuck on a webdesign problem

i will be grateful to anyone who can help me with this problem!

i was asked to create a very simple promotional page for a musican tribute tour.
so i created the site using image slices and image maps in Adobe ImageReady.

the site works just fine, except for when the pages are refreshed.
when refreshed the page contents seem to shift slightly one way.
but when the links are clicked the page contents shifts back to where it was.... and so on....
this doesn't make the site flow very well and looks sloppy, as if my coordinates were messed up.

what is going on here??

here is the URL if anyone would like to try and figure this one out.
http://members.rogers.com/s-f/twwf/twwf.html

by the way, it seems to having nothing to do with screen resolution or the size of ones browser window. this problem occurs no matter what i do.

thank you!!

I loaded it up, and didn't see any shifting what-so-ever. Refresh, resize, nothing changed.

I'm using IE 6 on Win2k.

me too.

it's a very subtle shift.
the contents shift just a few pixels, but it's noticable.

i don't know enough about the problem to determine whether or not it is system-specific. maybe it's just my two systems showing the shifting page! i donno!

but thank you for helping me out with this.

hmm. weird.

okay, i have compiled a small test to be more specific about the problem i'm seeing.

1) open the main page
2) click the link "nov 2004- north eastern US"
3) when the page has loaded watch carefully and click the 'refresh' button

see how everything shifts a little?

thank you to those testing for me

Tried it again; everything is definately "fixed in place" for me. No shifts whatsoever.

Perhaps The W3C MarkUp Validation Service might be of some help?

Ok, when i do it i see what your talking about.

Click on the link the the entire page shifts a little to the left. Refresh it and it shift back to the right and into the proper alignment with the front page. What i am noticing is that refreshing it puts it back to where it should be, and clicking the link takes it out of alignment.

Has to be an Internet Explorer issue, I don't get any shift with FireFox.

I did see it with IE 6 though.

okay, solved it.

the problem occurs when you try to 'center' the content. instead of using the using the "table align=center" code, i put in a "leftmargin=100" into the body tag.

it works! no shifting and my content is centered.

thanks to all that tested for me! i appreciate it!
