I am in the middle of building a comment/forum thingamaging for my site and I want to include a BBcode parser, however I can't seem to find any specification or standard for it...

Many versions (or references) I've seen have the some similar tags but I can't seem to find a single website with a full or at least basic specification.

Now I realise that it is extendible so a full specification would be hard, but can anyone point me to at least a BASIC formal specification?

I don't think there's a standard, every1 makes it's own ... but in the end they all look alike, it's just reg expr after all
