Help me choose a PDA solution fit for my life

First, a little background:
I work as a webmaster for a small company. My job involves me having to remember lots of cryptic server names, what each cryptic server name is supposed to be responsible for, root passwords, people I am developing websites for, tasks I should be working on, and contact infos.

Currently, my method of storing all this information consists of a wallet stuffed with post-it notes, and whatever files I manage to preserve.

I need something small, versatile, reliable, and powerful - but not distracting. So no silly little cameras or ringtones - I want something can store and organize information easily, check and reply to emails, browse the web, and can be potentially modified to fit any specialized purposes. Utilities such as an SSH client, FTP, etc. are a definite plus. Being able to record conversations would be nice too.

So far I'm strongly biased in favor of Linux-based PDAs.

I am really liking the upcoming Sharp Zaurus 6000.

"Hey, that looks really expensive!", yells the little voice in my head. "Are you sure you won't have to sell your body to afford it?". I prompty put him on ignore. But not before realizing that high-end PDAs are starting to cost closer to what a low-end laptop might cost. That bothers me.

What do you all think of this situation? Is the 6000 a worthy PDA to spend a month's worth of blood, sweat, and tears on, or should I set my sights a bit lower?

BlackBerry

BlackBerry would provide the email, secure and efficient, web browsing, memos, calendar.. all of it..

You can also get a really really good SSH client for it (I love it myself)

message me if you have any questions
