Directv local channels

I subscribed to Directv a few months ago and got the local channel subscription. At the time, they told me that they would have to send a waiver to the local stations in my area to waive me from their service so that I could get local station out of my area. A week later I notice that I have an ABC station and a PBS station on my guide, but no CBS, NBC or FOX.

I emailed Pegasus (my Directv provider) and asked them about this. They said the waivers for the other local station had been declined.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Are you paying extra for the local channels? I have cable and a cable modem. Love them both.

I really feel for the people caught in the middle of the viacom dispute.

You can have somebody come out to your home and do a site servey for your antenna reception. Then call up Pegasus and send them a copy.

But for the life of me I do not remember what they call these people. I would call up Pegasus or Directv and ask them.

I have Direct TV with local channels and never had anything like the situation you are talking about. I can get the local channels off air almost as good as the Direct TV signal. I live about 60 miles from the Dallas market. This maybe just something in your particular area. I beleive i'd go the site survey route like YodaPaul said and stay on them til you get your channels. Nothing more frustrating than paying for something and only getting a small portion of it.

Just a guess... But I think that pixelbend
is talking about the National Feeds, Not the local channels

That is for Dish Network/Echostar customers, not DirecTV.

I can tell you that I live about 60 miles from Los Angeles and get very crappy reception. He may live in a western state like California where mountains and canyons severely attenuate TV signals. I agree with going with a site survey...or maybe there is a website with signal coverage maps and diagrams for TV stations. I know that there used to be a site like that for radio stations. It's worth a shot.

I live in southeastern Missouri (thank you ahead of time for your condolences). The CBS and FOX stations that I get is about 30 miles north from my house and the NBC is about 60 miles south. And none of these stations are not in a large enough market to be carried by DirecTV. I don't have any real problem with reception, it's just an inconvienience to switch back and forth. The locals that I would be getting would be feeds out of NY or Chicago probably.
