Proper installation and grounding for a motherboard

This is kinda of a wierd question but if anyone could give me a refresher course on how to install a motherboard and make sure that it is grounded correctly. I did a Soyo a while back and fried the thing...wanna make sure it doesn't happen again.
Thanks for any help

Simply put, if you're concerned about frying it out on a mounting post, then remove all the posts. Then, place the motherboard in the case, and then take a permanent marker, and mark each hole as you see fit.

Then, remove the motherboard, pop in the posts, install said motherboard, plug in the power supply, cpu and ram. And you're off to the races!

Good luck

Ground them? Bah! Run with the wolves, laddie! Grounding is for wienies!

The only board I've killed was when I yanked out some RAM in frustration (stupid Dell cases) making my own computer - then I just slapped it back in the box and took it back. Thanks, Fry's!

Well let me tell y'all whats going on and maybe y'all can help me figure out what I need to do. The system was meant to be a 512 MB DDR, 60 gig 7200 rpm, 9700 Raedon Pro with the motherboard being a Soyo and te chip being a p4.
When I first setup the system it ran alright but then it started giving me some issues. It would freeze while trying to run anything that requireed full screen...or if I left it on for too long. It got to the point where it would even refuse to turn on...it does now but for some reason the the monitor isn't recogniing everything else. I'm saying its the motherboard since everything else has been tested and is running fine...what do y'all think?

You might have more luck posting this or having a Mod move it to the Computers board...

other than that, I have always used black electrical tape between the underside of the Mobo, and where it come in contact with the case mount... when the board is giving me problems...
