Everything is Read-Only???
So I'm sitting at my computer trying to download some songs when my computer starts giving me grief. It's telling me that it cannot access that file for some reason or another. I start to inspect what could be the problem when I notice that every file on my computer is read-only, or all the ones I've checked. Even when I create a new folder on the desktop, it is set to read-only. The other thing is that I cannot change these settings.
WTF is going on?

Virus? Try and install / run a virus scanner. If your comp wont allow you to do this, and you have access to a system that you dont mind risking, rip the HDD out, and throw it in another system that has a virus scanner already installed with all the updates. Run the scan and see what happens

There are free web-based virus scanners too. You can use Symantec's by going to this page.
