Onkyo recievers
Hi guys,
I just picked up an Onkyo TX-SR501 from our local Circuit City that was going out of business. They were selling all display models so I got it for about $180. I thought it was a pretty good buy, was I right? It replaced my Kenwood receiver that came with an all in one system, next I'm going to replace the center channel and the sub. Since this is a 6.1 receiver, I was wondering, what kind of speaker should I get for the rear speaker? Another center channel? |

As far as Onkyo is concerned, I really have recpect for them. They make great gear that's as bulletproof as anybody else. Good job on the shopping score!
The best configuration is the same speaker all around. Maybe find a model you can get a few of now, that will be available in the future. |

I was thinking about buying the Onkyo 6.1 complete system. My only question is the bass. I really couldn't tell a lot about it in the store. Have you hooked it up yet? I know you said you were going to replace the sub but how does it sound with what you have now?

I hooked it up with my old Kenwood powered subwoofer from my Kenwood all-in-one and it sounds great. Puts out way more bass than the Kenwwod receiver ever did. But I still want to upgrade to a bigger sub
More power!
