hmm.. thats not the same one i saw, but still interesting. This one had a unit that sat on a table and projected an image upwards like on starwars. It was really unique.

Thanks though.. Great link..

I'd be weary of a 3D display or TV with no pictures on the site...

I'd be real cautious too...I just found a link & posted it.

no reason to be weary, they exist today. the technology for holograms and 3-D televisions has been out for a while. a conference was held a year or two ago where a 3-d hologram was projected onto a show room floor near other cars and from a distance, no one could tell it wasn't real....until someone walked through it...

I'll try to find the pics, but I doubt I can, it was a good while ago

at CEWS this year (and last year too) they held a conference using projectors, computers and a videocamera for "teleporting" a keynote speaker from Europe to Las vegas. There was a videocamera on each end to show him the audience and to show us him, and using the computers and projectr we were able to see a 1:1 scale projection of the man while he was speaking. The good doctor even told jokes, and interacted with the audience fairly well and without lag. and with the sound system they set up he could hear everythying in the room. They also had a laptop using stereoscopic viewing whic can be found here

Oh dear lord, the pornographic implications.

I havent seen any real holography yet. Most of the techniques still involve the image being projected onto a see-through surface.

To me, real Holographic images would be the ones that are projected into thin air, regardless of the environment.
