Oh my god..... one of my friends went out and purchased a video card without consulting me and the card he got was a 9600se. I asked him if he knew that "se" in Ati's cards (like the 9800se, 9600se) stands for shitty edition. The 9600SE has a 64bit memory interface which is HALF of the XT's, which is 128 bit. Plus the core and the memory of the SE is clocked much lower than the XT. On www.newegg.com they are selling 9600 XT's for $150, if I were you I would spend the extra $20/$30 and get a much better card.

The SE version of ATI cards are a damn joke. I wouldn't spend ANY money on them at all. The SE is basically a way fo saying "cheap version." Horrible cards if you are a gamer.

If you're gonna get the 9600 series, get the XT at NewEgg, or at least the Pro at NewEgg. The SE is ridiculously...shitty. The 9200SE (another one of ATI's SE's) is about the level of a GeForce 2. Yes, 2.
