Yet another mass image dling thread...
Posted this in Tilted Links section, but thought that people in this section might have more knowledge.
Guys, I need help here. I'm at my wits end. I really like the way IE image works, ripping just the jpg/jpeg files I need as posted in a forum, but I don't wanna use IE. I love tabbed browsing, and I am hooked on mozilla and now firefox. What I *really* want is a program that will parse through the /img tags in a forum and just dl them (the jpgs, that is) to 1 easily saveable directory. IE image is perfect in that it stores all images in their own folder, from the same root directory every time. I want to do this *and*, preferrably, not dl extraneous avatars/small thumbnails. In short, I'm looking for something like IE image, and, if possible, something that will filter out small files by size or pixels. While I love the Porn Tools thread, I haven't been able to solve my problem yet trying various tools. HTTrack seems like a real pain in the ass as I don't want to copy a whole website. I just want jpgs and I want em all in their own tiny little folder, one away from the root. I don't want to sort thru 5 or 6 folders just to find my jpgs either. I just want to be able to look at all my jpgs in acdsee or something by adding all subdirectories in a jpg download folder. If this tool isn't available, is there an easy way to recursively go thru all subdirectories in an images folder and delete all .gifs, non jpgs, and jpgs under a 35k size limit in order to weed out avatars, buttons, and trash? Its been a while since my programming days, and I don't wanna relearn quite yet, but that would make a nifty utility. Any advice would be much appreciated. P.S. I realize that having to go thru a website 2x can cause extra strain on the server (opening, viewing, then dling again w/ robot), and would love to find a program that just took advantage of the cache too, if possible. I'm using firebird and know what you're trying to do.Third party stuff not required.
Save Page as Web Page, html only. Then do the same thing with the file you just saved, only save as complete page. A warning will be dispalayed asking if you want to overwrite the file of the same name you just created.Of course you do.After this all thats left, on the TB for instance, is one donate logo. The rest are the images arranged neatly in their own new folder. You may want to consider copying and pasting a name for your folder from the page before you save it. |
