Question about wallpaper
When in explorer, I hit, Set as Background and now have a picture made into wallpaper. How do I find that picture on my computer?
I've tried searching a few things I could think of but would like to know if anyone knows the file's location? Thanks in advance Woody |
if you go to my controls/display and click the tab for desktop you should see internet wallpaper highlighted...if you click browse like you were going to change it, it will bring up the dialog box showing the location the current wallpaper is at....at least it does on mine

but i think what he's wondering, is in internet explorer, he does the 'set as background' option, and then he's wondering where then windows stores that image?
the answer, i dunno. if i see an image i'd like to use for wp, i just download it, and then use it. (and i don't really use IE) ? /me checks google.. /edit - just tested it.. C:\Documents and Settings\UserNAme\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer //edit again - ShaniFaye's basically right too tho. |
edit**** didnt see your last part lol Sin

The image is stored on your temp folder. All the images you see on the browser for the most part are stored on your temp folder.

I found it just the other day...I am running 98-SE
go to MY COMPUTER click on the C drive Click on windows (tell it to show hidden files if you can not see them) Look for a folder called WEB and click on it.. there is a folder in there called WALLPAPER that has all of your pictures in it... also--if you tell it to save as wallpaper it may save it as a .bmp file on WINDOWS and it will be listed by name.---I move all of mine into the wallpaper file.... |
