scanjet 5500, troubles, and perfect customer service...
I bought a Scanjet 5500c to replace my Canon. Well, actually, I ordered a 5550c accidently ( for sale cheap), and reordered the 5500c.
When I got it, hooked it up, it sucked! Would not feed, jammed, didn't know where to put the files..... I contacted HP, played the menu game, connected with a knowledgable person, went through the steps, and she decided the document feed was bad. They sent a new document feed, and I couldn't be happier! Newegg couldn't be bothered, were a real pain in the assterisk The new ADF does it perfectly, and I think it is great. HP was helpful, sent a replacement, can't beat it. newegg couldn't be bothered with it! Often we bitch about bad products or service, and we all can tell a story. I am here to tell TFP members that they might look to here for good deals also. Newegg might have a good price or two, but you don't have the rma problems that I have dealt with from newegg, if you go elsewhere. BTW, I had to goto HP for service as newegg would not rma the scanner, just like they would not rma my flat panel. They told me to go to the manufacturer. Yeah, was just gonna say, I've had to RMA things from Newegg before, and have had zero problems. But, either way, glad it worked out for you in the end.
