I am thinking about buying one of these, and I just wanted some advice/warnings from the smart folks here at TFP. Does anyone have a sidekick? Does it work well? Is it reliable?

I know someone who owns one...pretty cool if I must say so...she hasn't had any problems with it...but I don't think I would pay $20 to use aol instant messenger though....

isnt the sidekick just an amplified two way pager? someone correct me if im wrong.

yeah, it's 2way. with phone capabilities, email, web, games, and it's colour.

I am using my sidekick to browse the TFP right this bloody second. All the tfp graphics show up, so do avatars, and even the tittie board. This thing is fucking AWESOME!!!

still if you can stomach the 20-30 dollar data fee on top of your call plan, and the 300 bucks to purchase it in the first place..
go for it.
also, the screen is unprotected and has a sliding hinge..
be careful!
