PowerDVD4 ir WinDVD4?

I've got an older copy of PowerDVD xp4.0 and a copy of WinDVD4 just came with my new MSI motherboard. I really don't watch dvd's all that often but definitely don't want to load both of these softwares. Any comments?
Thanks

Theyre both good pieces of software. I personally run PowerDVD.

I am not sure if you are running Windows but if you are newer versions of windows media player will play DVd's and then you don't need any software.

I personally use Win DVD but I never tried the Power DVD. Could one really be that much better than the other?

No, they both are about the same, and as far as I know, both work just as well.

Many people dont like to install or run WMP, myself included, so I need DVD software on my machine.

Great guys. As long as there isn't any huge difference I think I'll be just fine.
Thanks

There is a huge difference, but I'm not sure if you'll care.

PowerDVD 4 has a built-in surround decoder, while WinDVD doesn't. This mattered a lot for me because my soundcard doesn't have a builtin decoder like many consumer cards do.

I mostly prefer PowerDVD. Just got use to it since I picked that one up first.

Both are really good programs though.

I love powerDVD since it seems to run soo much smoother on my system, very powerful and still very lite.
