DVD coaster PISSES ME OFF!
Okay, I've got a new sony dru 510a, and it came with sonic DVD burning software.
I practiced with this software on a VCD, just so I knew how it worked. Now I tried to burn my first DVD. The computer spends hours coding the video, burns halfway, and then I get some damn random error message and a coaster. What the hell am I supposed to do about that? The error message amounted to "couldn't complete command." What the hell do I do about that? Try again and hope I don't waste $2? This is such bullshit. Is there some better software out there I could try? I really am not willing to waste 2 dollar discs to make coasters, especially when I have no idea why it did in the first place. While we're at it: Athlon XP 1600+ 512mb DDR2700 80GB Western Digital Special Edition 30GB WD XP Pro; all current updates The DRU is master on IDE 1, the WDSE is master on IDE 0.

I personally like to use Nero to burn my DVD's. I have heard many problems with different burning software so maybe try a different one and see what happens.
My best suggestion is to buy a rewritable disk and try it out a few times before commiting to a write once disk. |

First of all update your burner firmware...that will fix alot of incompatibility issues with your burner.
Also what brand of media do you use? I use 2x ritek they work great and are only .89cents a piece shipped

For VCD's I use Nero, again after a lot of trial and error this is the best one. ps - It also make a big difference what DVD disks you use - I have tried Datawrite but these seemed to stick a lot. I now buy Ritek DVD's and I haven't had a problem with them so far. |
