Damn IE font size!
Okay, so about halfway through browsing this morning, i refreshed yahoo in IE and noticed that suddenly the font size was huge as if my monitor had been set to 800x600. "Weird" i thought and came back to browsing the TFP. the tfp was still at font settings of a normal size for my resolution (1024x768) and so i thought maybe yahoo was screwing around with their css. Then i popped open another window and went to ebay. Again my font was huge, but the other windows with the tfp was still normal sized font. By now i was getting concerned so i opened internet settings to make sure that accesability features hadn't been turned on by some freak accident. Nope, font setting for IE where set to match windows setting like default.
By now i was scratching my head in confusion and ran ad-aware figuring on a program slipping by me that changed defaults. No results there. Next i ran norton figuring on the new worm, but once again i came up clean. By now i was just agitated. I checked the system accesability settings in the control panel, but they where all off. I decided to restart the machine. After a restart, i opened IE and still my font's where unusually large. I came back to the TFP and now my font's are huge here to. My windows desktop icon font's are still correctly sized, as are font's in all programs like word and outlook. Thus i'm cornering it as an IE issue. Does anybody know how to fix this? Somethings really not right here and it's driving me insane since i've eliminated the usual suspects. If it helps, here's what the computer has been used for in the last 12 hours since i turned it on: Windows update- 2 system files updated Mirc- downloaded a tv episode and chatted IE- browsing, mostly on the tfp and ebay The OS is windows 2000 sp4. Please tell me i'm missing something stupid here. *edit* even stranger, pages like weather.com or jeep.com still apear with the normal small font size. Others like yahoo, ebay, tfp, and fark are appearing large. Something is afoot and it's got me bothered quite a bit here.

if you have a wheel mouse you can change the font my holding down ctrl and rolling the wheel back and forth.
On a side note if you hold alt down and do it, it navagates forward and back through IE websites, not sure for other browsers. |
