Cruzer Mini 256MB Flash Drive
It was a briskly cold morning as I arose from a restful night of slumber. On my way from bed to the bathroom, I grab some laundry off of the floor and toss it into the washer, set the washer, add soap, and then proceed to take a shower.
After drying off, and heading to the washer to remove the clothes so they can dry off, to my dismay, laying at the bottom of the washer is my Cruzer Mini 256MB flash drive. Gleaming and me and laughing, "You dumb sonofabitch, you left me in your pants" My heart sank, my pulse quickened and my stomach turned. "You dumb sonofabitch, you left your semester project on your flash drive and in your pants." I says to myself, remembering that I haven't backed it up... ---------------- So, I begin to search the internet, and find that there are others, just as stupid as myself, and in every account the drive had survived. Currently the drive is sitting up on the shelf, drying. I'll give it till thursday, then I will make an attempt to see if it is toast. Has anyone ever had a similar experience? Has it turned out ok? I do need some 'collective good thinking' from everyone.. -SF |

Ive seen cell phones dropped in water before (including salt water) and had them survive. Turn it off, rinse it out (more water wont hurt it, but if there is soap left it in, it very well may), and then let it dry really well. And pray.

I have a 128mb one. If you don't have one, get on ebay or whatever and pick up at least a 64 meg drive, cause you'll never go back to floppies again.
The cruzer mini seems to be a pretty decent one, and from what this guy says, it will survive things I might never put mine through!

I got this Cruzer Mini, at Best Buy about 4 months ago. They had the wrong price on it, as well as an instant rebate. Well, I'll be darned it it rang up for the wrong price. I got the 256MB for 39.99. It was a steal!
It's great for swapping files between computers, doing setups, quick arcive for digital photos, it uses are endless. Though, I'm still in amazement that it went through a heavy duty washing machine, in warm water and soap, spin cycles and all! -SF |

I recently received a 256 MB Flash drive. Those things are incredibly handy. I put all the programs that one would need after they format their computer on there. Most of the time it's "Hey Redjake, can you install KazaaLite K++ on my computer for me??" I take the flash drive over, stick it in, and install Kazaa, 30 seconds later I leave. "That's it?? You're awesome!"
They work wonders.
