Nero 6 Recode

Has anyone used Nero 6's new Recode software?

I tried it out on one of my DVDs and it was amazing. Makes me wonder how much longer it will stay on the shelves if the movie studios find out.

I downloaded it the other day and used it. I have to second that idea, it's almost too good. The compression loss is almost imperceptible, and it's FAST!

Movie studios know all about the software, trouble is theres nothing they can do about it or a large company like Ahead would never release such a beast. The co-creator of Recode was the same guy who wrote DVDShrink I believe. Another program out that is CloneDVD by Elby which does pretty much the same thing. I use DVD shrink on my 2nd pc as no dvd burner installed means no recode program will work and the difference in visual is not even noticable.

Its a component of the nero 6 package, not stand-alone. Looks like it can copy a DVD onto a DVD+-R(W) media or a CD-R(W) using custom menu's and stuff.

Thanks for the link tritium. Does this mean I can use Recode to rip DVD's onto my harddrive?

You can rip any DVD to your hard disk or back to DVD media with intact menus and other features. However, it doesn't let you rip copy-protected media.

I'll leave it to you to work around that. Here's a start: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/.

I have Nero 6 Ultra. Do these updates work for it, too?

Ummm sort of depends if you have purchased your copy of version 6 or acquired it by someother means. If 1 then yes, if 2 then no. Of course it's not to difficult to use the same means to make sure 6.3 works again. BTW, so many people are trying to download it from the 3 mirrors it might take you ahwile.

Nero 6 recode is a great program. 3-2-1 studios (dvdxcopy) probably hates ahead software for releasing it.

Ok I'll give this a go. I have been using Ulead DVD Workshop to burn DVD's and that is ok. I'll see if this is better.

An old National Lampoon cover. "Buy this magazine, or we'll shoot this dog" I saw it on a magazine stand in the late 70's, and it always stuck with me.
