The anti-spyware programs won't get it, teh antivirus won't, and it won't give up
"Do you want to allow werule to access teh internet"
Zonealarm blocks it, next reboot, there it is again. I have 3 dozen entries of whatever the hell it is in my block list for ZA. Anyone have some insight? |
That sounds like a bastard, try Spybot ( http://security.kolla.de/news.php?lang=en ) or Ad-Aware ( http://download.com.com/3000-2094-10...ml?legacy=cnet ), you might have a deamon trying to send out system specs to a website for advertisement purposes... only a guess

If worst comes to worst and it will not go away, I'd suggest a format (or at least a clean windows install (if you have XP this is a setup option)). It sucks, but it will speed up your comp and only takes a few hours.

Try :
Spyware Ad-Aware HiJack This Make sure it's not in your startup directory. If it is, just delete the shortcut and whatever it leads to. You can also run msconfig.exe and then disable it if it runs on startup. |
search for werule and delete it if its there
|
Check the program list in Zone Alarm for werule, it'll give you the direct path to the file(s) in the Entry Detail section near the bottom. You should be able to delete them. You may have to boot in safe mode to get rid of that shit.

It sounds like adware to me so try and find werule and delete it. If you cant find it try using PestPatrol, it works great for me.
