Cool Camera

JB Camera (James Bond)

I just saw this in maxim magazine and logged on to the site. I don't know much about cameras, but I have a hard time believing that this camera could take decent pics.

Anyone know enough about cameras to tell me if this thing takes good pictures?

Sure, why not? Digital cameras are in cell phones. They're pretty small these days.

this is a pic supposedly taken by it, keep in mind it's half size though so the quality may not actually be as good at full resolution

Hmmm useful for places you're not supposed to bring a camera I suppose. I guess it's cool if your a vouyer or whatever, but my digital camera has way better resolution and I don't have to be sneaky.

And what's with the line at the top of the page:
JB 1 THE WORLD’S FIRST OFFICIAL DIGITAL CAMERA

I'm actually curious about this camera because it's small and relatively cheap-the magazine article said it was 100 dollars IIRC. I could carry it around with me and not have to worry that much about damage.

I'm just curious as to the picture quality. I mean, they say that picture was taken from this camera-but I need someone who knows camera terminology to tell me if it's good.

In any event, how would someone using this camera know how to zoom and all that?

Is it good? Depends on what you're looking for in a camera. The picture quality you see is probably about the best you're gonna get for that camera. If you want something small and cheap that you won't have to worry about getting messed up, you can get something about as good for $40 or so on www.thinkgeek.com or e-bay. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I'm not an expert by any means, but I do have a little bit of experience with digital cameras.

Mmm I think the best picture quality it could produce would be just a little better than in that photo, and it most likely doesn't handle bad light conditions very well. Also wouldn't you feel like an idiot taking out that as a camera and taking photos...

Personally I'd look out for something "normal", you'd probably get a lot better value for money. Cameras tend to be pretty tough, and come with carry cases.

If you're looking for something small you can carry around with you, you might get a Casio Exilim. I just picked up a 2 megapixel model for $100 on clearance at WalMart. They usually run about $170-200 for the 2mp camera, but it is very durable: stainless steel case. It's about the size of a credit card, and it's under .5" thick.

only if it also produced a flame... which i don't think it does.
pulling out the wrong zippo would look pretty lame if you were trying to light up a cigarette (and ended up taking a photo of the boogers up your nose).

Definitely, it's very James Bondish.
