Good CRT monitor with DVI?
I need help finding a decent CRT monitor that has DVI, as I can't afford an LCD screen at the moment. The LG 17" T710B Flatron Flat Screen Monitor looks to be alright to me, does anyone know if it has DVI - or - would I be wasting my time with DVI on a CRT monitor? Does DVI on CRT monitors even exist?

DVI is a digital connection. CRTs are analog, while TFTs are digital. I'd be *very* surprised if there were CRTs with DVI. It'd be quite useless, after all.
The whole idea behind DVI is to remove the problem of having to convert from digital to analog and back. And on CRTs, that conversion back simply doesn't occur. |
I don't think such a thing exists, as the monitor would have to convert back to analog to display anything. Stick with a normal old CRT connector on your vid card and go DVI when you get a DVI LCD, or get a card that does both!

there are crt monitors with dvi connections, but they are usually 20+ inchers i believe. the dvi input is said to stop ghosting even on crts, but that shouldn't be a problem on newer crts, use analog.

I have a CRT with DVI and, as stated above, it is 21". Intel has a pdf explanation of the benefits of the DVI connection on a CRT which are worth the expense for manufacturers to make them.
