DVD player
I know this has been covered to a very minor extent in this thread, but I wanted to get a few more answers. I'm looking for a good DVD player. My price range is $150-200. I don't care about recording, I don't need a VCR built in. The most DVD slots I'll need is two, so the fives aren't totally necessary. The TV I have has S-Video, and the TV I'm trying to claim has component. Advice is appreciated.

Yamaha makes a nice player for $199. Has composite, s-, and component video outputs. And its actually made by the company it says it is. One finds too many players that claim to be one brand on the outside, and another is stamped on the circuit board inside....

I bought the JVC and I am TOTALLY happy with it. It plays just about any kind of media I throw at it. Has some great features. In my opinion, I think this DVD player gives the best bang for the buck.
My DVD Player is the JVC model number: XVN50BK Check out it's features and I am sure you will see that there is almost nothing that this DVD player can't handle. It is also below your spending limit, to boot!!

Audio Advisor http://www.audioadvisor.com always has a DVD player on sale. Right now they've got a Pioneer DV-563A that plays DVD, SACD, and DVD-A. Good deal at $179.

i just bought a JVC multiregion so that I can play all regions and fast forward thru the RCEA commecials and warnings. I love it!
I looked at 220 and bought it from there. great service and reasonable price for a chipped player.

You can get very good DVD players for way under $200. I recommend getting around $120 player and using the difference of the $ to get something else. That is, if you have a need for something.

a great site to search for the exact features you want in a dvd player and read customer comments is www.dvdrhelp.com (used to be www.vcdhelp.com)
I found stuff about the current Sony dvd player I have and I am really glad I did; best electronics purchase I've made. |
