Forcing a monitor into 800x480
A few of you may remember awhile back that I was trying to mount a HD in my car for my carputer. Well everything's in now, and the troubleshooting has begun.
The screen that I have installed is the 700TS, from http://xenarc.com/ and the VGA comes from the VIA M10000 http://store.yahoo.com/directron/viaepiam1000.html The problem is that the native resolution is 800x480 and windows streches 800x600 to fit on it. As one can imagine this gives the desktop a distorted view. I've tried everything I can think of but the closest I can get is 840x480, through the "Show all modes" button. And this is actually worse than 800x600. Does anyone know of a trick or program that can force it into the correct resolution? |

yeah, make sure you have the drivers first. If that doesn't work, try just changing the monitor type randomly until you find one that does support it. That's how i usually do it and it works just fine

That's the problem. The drivers in that file and on the CD that came with it are only for the touchscreen. I can't find one's for the monitor anywhere.

I just found a program that they recommended: http://www.entechtaiwan.com/files/pstrip.exe
This should do the job, but it costs $30 and I really think it's a functionality the company should provide for free with the monitor. spived2: I had tried that at first but everything gets squashed since the screen aspect ratio is 16:9.
