Good...no, GREAT pop3 client?
I need suggestions for a good (read: GREAT) pop3 client. I've been using The Bat! for years, but it just stopped functioning and I had been thinking about moving on to something more aesthetically pleasing anyway. Outlook is out of the question, I hate the interface of that thing.
I'd love to hear what you're using or know of that might be worth looking into. The platform is Windows XP. |
I've been enjoying Thunderbird. You can look at it over at http://mozilla.org
|
I know u said outlook is out of the question, but what about outlook express?
i use it and i've had no problems with it. best thing is, it can work with your hotmail account, windows messenger etc.. |

Thunderbird ROCKS. Count me as another vote for it :D

Uhh, that's a browser, isn't it? I hate Mozilla-based browsers like Netscape, they make pages look like crap (especially with the placeholders...). I assume the email client is a module of the browser then?
|
Mozilla Suite (Seamonkey) is being split into seperate programs. Mozilla Browser (Firebird) for web browsing and Mozilla Mail (Thunderbird) for e-mail.
I wonder why you think pages look bad though? Every page I've ever been to has rendered perfectly in Mozilla for me. And what do you mean by placeholders? |
Oh it's just what one's used to, I think. Pages load differently with Mozilla, and for the longest time Netscape didnt support iframes properly, so I didnt care for it.
Placeholders, I meant image placeholders. I know you can disable them, I just hate the way they're on as default |

As for iframes, they generally shouldnt be included in webpages anyways--standards incompliant, and damn annoying to be honest. I dont know about image placeholders, but I havent seen pages render differently in Mozilla as opposed to IE. |
Try using Pocomail. http://www.pocomail.com
|
I still don't know what image placeholders are, but sailor is right. And if you're equating experience with Netscape to experience with Mozilla you should know they can be very different. Mozilla is pretty much always ahead of Netscape in anything.

I liked Eudora when I had it on my computer. Worked good, and used little memory from what I recall.
