Anyone use a digital reciever?
I have seen a new product that looks interesting. It is a digital reciever. The purpose of it is to hook it up to your TV and then you can connect to a LAN 10/100 ( also can connect via wireless connection )and pull media files from your PC and play them on the TV. Circuit city has a few but all seem to have rather crappy reviews? Anyone reccomend one?

Well, You can Take a look at the Escient Fireball E-40 or E-120
www.escient.com I install these all the time, and they are great, but they are VERY expensive.

Although I don't think it is what he is asking about.... Escient Fireballs are fucking awesome!!! I'm looking at either an E-120 or an Elan Via! DJ (160GB, 4 zoneable outputs) for myself.
The device he is speaking of is just an interface between your computer and A/V system. Whereas the Fireball and other similar products are music servers.

why not just get a video card with TV out capability? Then you can run your whole computer on the TV and not spend a crapload of money. For sound, just go to radioshack and ask for a "stereo male miniplug to stereo male RCA cable" and you can plug your soundcard into the back of your TV too.

The Autotron from turtle beach is only about $300. So it might make sense for some to go with this type of thing. For others going with a setup that you describe would work just fine.
