MP3 Player

I was thinking about how much similar mp3 players are compared to USB key in terms of transferring data to the file storage and I was just wondering if it was possible to store say a picture file on a mp3 player disk? I googled that question, can't find anything...

Ipod's will store images using a free third party program that creates an image bank program on their hard drive

there is a usb key/mp3 player that you can get at best buy but that is the only thing i have heard that combines the two.

Nearly every player in the creative line can hold both data and music. Transferring it though can be a bit tricky. The flash based players do the job best, while the hard disk based players usually require a seperate program.

I am not familiar with the Sony models or their setup. But I would check in My Computer to see if there is a removable drive listed that is about the size of your MP3 player. A 256MB player usually shows up as 248MB, I think, due to formating stuff. If it is there just try to move an image file onto that drive.

The Archos line functions as both an MP3 player and hard drive, connecting through USB 2.0. I have the FM Jukebox 20, and it stores 20GB of data, in any format. I have about 7 or 8GB of MP3s and 5GB of backups from my laptop on it. Windows XP recognizes it instantly and assigns it the next free drive letter.

very cool! if u can see it as a seperate drive in winxp, then u can put other stuff. if u need a program, then u might not me able to.

When I hook my player up to the computer it doesn't show as removeable harddrive. I used USB key on this laptop before and still shows as removeable harddrive.

I might have to use a program, anyone know of one?
