Problems installing Office 2000 on XP-SP1

When I try to install Office 2000 Professional I get an error saying that Office1.cab is missing. I checked the disk and it's there. I have tried installing Office 2000 Professional and Small Business and both gave me the same error. I have even tried making an image of the disk and running it through an emulated drive but the problem persists. I don't understand whats going on. Has anyone else had this problem?

A friend recently installed XP Pro (SP1) and Office 2000. No problems.

Maybe your Office disk is bad. Try wiping it with a non-abrasive material. I am running Office 2000 on Windows XP Pro without any problems.

Same here, never had a problem. Sure it's a legal disk and there are no scratches on it? If it's from kazaa let's say the data is more than likely corrupted...

I have a less-than-legal disc here, and it has been running fine for ages. Well, until I replaced it with Office 2003, of course...

The disk I have is the proper thing, without any scratches whatsoever. I am completely lost on this one. Would a firewall or virus checking program be doing this?

It was a bad installation of Windows XP Pro, i think it may have had something to do with Norton Ghost.
