AOL missing files
When i try to start up aol it gives me an error message. its something like "aol is missing files and is trying to find them." When i go to log on it stops durring the connection and aol freezes. This all started after i downloaded a thing a run a free online virus scan. Aol wont tell me the name of the file.
Im on aol 5.0 right now and for some reason it works. Anyone have any help? |
Try reinstalling AOL 6 then...

Just a thought:
1. go to start>control panel>add remove programs 2. choose remove aol. 3. get phonebook and look for local isp Im kidding! (kinda) Reinstall the software if ya can, that might work |

Try downloading Ad-aware 6.0 and Spybot - Search and Destroy and whenever you get them installed, use the update function to download the latest definition update. Then scan your system to see if you have any spyware, adware, or some other of harmful software on your computer. If you want a free virus scanner, download AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition, if you download this, be sure to check regularly and download the latest updates for it. |
If you need another copy of AOL, I have like 25,000 of them, they keep sending them, and I keep putting them in a box... I think it works out for both of us... one of these days I am gonna send them all back in a piano crate as postage due... (Can I do that?)
~Crack |
some guys on the net are trying to do just that crack. They are collecting CD's from whoever wants to send them their "extras" and they are going to ship them to AOL headquarters once they reach 1 million or something like that. They have a problem with AOL sending unsolicited CDs to their mailboxes. (I don't think they have a problem with the actual software, just the marketing strategies) Hew, maybe they have a CD you can use to reinstall :)
http://www.nomoreaolcds.com/ But that's just me |

Its always good to leave those files because even though it may say that those particular files aren't in use, you can never be too sure. |
