Well, I learned recently:
F5 is refresh.. its right in the menu, but never noticed it I also use: ctrl-enter on internet explorer to automatically enter the "http://www.****.com" when i go to sites... Well, most of you prolly know this, and I wanted to see if there's others i can pick up on.. add more little shortcuts in windows for n00bs like me

If you ctrl+f5, it gives you a hard refresh.
Also, alt+f4 closes a window/program. alt+tab switches between currently running programs. ctrl+shift+esc is like ctrl+alt+del, but it skips the first window and takes you straight to the running processes. Useful when the machine is so hosed that it takes forever to get through the ctrl+alt+del window.

windows key + L = lock your desktop.
alt + D to highlight your address bar. windows key + f = opens Windows Search. windows key + m = minimize. That's all I can think of off the top of my head atm. Here's a nifty site that tells you all of the ALT key combinations: http://www.spies.com/~cary/altkeys.html

I'm actually surprised that no one has mentioned the CTRL combos. CTRL + C - Copy CTRL + V - Paste CTRL + Z - Undo And most progs also have: CTRL + S - Save OR CTRL + O - write Output Or maybe everbody already knows...

A further thought: alt+space bar is the same as clicking in the top LEFT corner - it brings up the menu with options to minimise, maximise, restore etc. I find alt+space followed by n (miNimise) or x (maXimise) a very quick ay to change applications, or to get that browser off screen...

In KDE or Gnome in Linux (not sure about other window managers), ALT+F2 brings up a quick command dialog Really useful for going directly to webpages too without opening a browser first
