Bittorrent problems - default torrents folder
 

Man.. this is my second post of the day asking for help with computers, but the help is good so I'm asking again! :)

I recently bought a new hard drive, and I moved all my bittorrent folders to the new HD. However, Internet Explorer keeps automatically downloading the .torrent files to the
old "torrents" folder, and thus I must manually move the torrent files to the new folder. How do I change the settings so they are
downloaded in my new HD? Thanks so much for your help!

Pentium 4 2.0GHz
1GB RAM

Could you elaborate a little more? I'm not sure I understand.

When I click on a torrent file in IE, my bit torrent client automatically opens up and lets me choose to save it.

I use this one it asks me where I would like to save everytime I initiate a download.

I've tried a couple of different clients, but I like this one the best. :)

If I may be so bold, what bit torrent sites do you visit. I'm always interested in new ones and my current crop is getting a bit old.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying either...

I'm assuming the bittorrent folders which you moved to the new HD are incomplete and you want to resume downloading off of them. I use Burst! which lets you choose where you want to save your files to (Other clients should also let you choose). Just right-click, open up your torrent, and a box will pop up asking where you want to save it to. Just redirect it to the folder on the new HD.

If you just want to download the .torrent file to the new HD, right-click, save as, and direct it to the new drive.

What your saying is weird...unless you have IE some how set to automatically download the.torrent files....The way its worked for every single bittorrent client I have used....8 different ones so far...the .torrent files are automatically opened and the bittorrent client then opens a window and asks were you would like to save the .avi (or whatever) file. Usually the only way to get the .torrent file is a right click save as....so I really dont know..

Check it out...you can have multiple d/l in one window...schedule the d/l and if the computer crashes or what ever you dont need to find the .torrent file again..just open the client and it automatically starts the d/ls again
