Free Anti Virus Program

I read about a couple of Anti Virus programs that are free for the home user on PC World.

Well after reading the reviews I thought I would test the best one out and so far after one month not one problem.

This thing took a little time to get it configured because of all it has to offer, but I can tell you it does the job 100%.

It caught 10 e-mail viruses and 4 viruses on files I was downloading from Kazaa.

The following is the link to their site:

If you wish you can go to www.pcworld.com and type in Free Virus, look in Novembers write up.

I will follow up on this in case something happens, but so far so good....and IT'S FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Have a blessed day,

KS

You might wanna change the thread title to "Free Anti-Virus Program." Ha ha, I thought you were gonna tell about free viruses! :) My girlfriend's college offered a free version of Symantec Anti-Virus and it works damn well. It's not bloated like Norton (even though it's made by the same company) and it works just as well.

AVG Anti-Virus FREE Edition.

Probably the best FREE virus scanner around.

I'm going to have to agree with omega on this one. I've been using AVG for several months now, on suggestion from a colleague and I love it. Good stuff. :)

yep another vote for omegas suggestion of AVG, also been using it for months, works great and a lot faster than norton or mcafee

yep, avg is good, cheap cheeful and easy to use....its no thrills with loads of updates...which is a good thing!

I have used AVG in the past until the dreaded day viruses hooked into a computer and had its way with it. I really didnt trust it to begin with but wanted to test a freebie out. Norton Antivirus is what I trust based on experiences (I am lead tech at a repair shop) McAfee has failed me on many occasions, AVG the one time (really not a major virus but it got on the system, and AVG found it when it did a full system scan, but it did get onto the system)
my 2c When you pay 30bucks a year for antivirus you get that good feeling of knowing that when something goes wrong you can call and yell at someone about it!

I use Nortons. Ok, it's a bit bloated, but it has yet to fail me in about 3 years. It's caught a lot of viruses etc as I've been downloading, frequently from kazaa. Also, I've got the latest Norton systemworks now and it's very good - it's got a good few other utils such as the registry cleaner that help out a bit.

Ok,You have to pay for it, but I trust a company that I have to pay for!
