Soundcard Help Please
Im trying to find out the exact type of soundcard my computer has. Im running windows XP. Can someone tell me how i can find this info.

Right click on My Computer >> Properties >> Hardware >> Device Manager

Well, the simple way to do it is go into the control panel and check out the sound settings. Somewhere in the menus (depending on how you have XP set up) it'll tell ya the name of your soundcard. Many times, Windows XP won't give you exact models of certain types of hardware, but it should at least tell you what brand/basic model it is. Mine says SoundBlaster Live!.

You could also go to start->run then type dxdiag. It'll show your brand of soundcard as well as the drivers you're using on the sound tab.
Edit: This only works if you have DirectX installed, which most people so. |
