best way to hook up 2 monitors to 1 system. sumtin like http://www.maxivista.com/
was wondering if there is a better way. like a way with out needing 2 seperate computers.

either get a pci vid card to add to your system, or get a new agp card with two outputs

if you have 2 vid cards you can set up duel monitor. And i dont mean same picture on the montoirs. i wanna be able to have double the destop.

I'm running a matrox dual output card on two monitors. I go it on a recommendation from a friend who also uses one, and it is satisfactory to pretty fricking nifty, but I might shop around a little more before I buy another and see if I can get a couple of other features.

Why do you want your monitors to fight?

Yeah, get another card and another monitor. Its not hard to do, thats how my computer runs.

I run dual monitors on my system - I have a GeForce4 with several outputs (VGA, DVI, and SVideo). I bought a DVI->VGA dongle, hooked it to the DVI port, and hooked two VGA monitors to my video card.

I then grabbed an app called Ultramon (google for it) and it set things up quite nicely.

Alternately, you can drop multiple video cards into your computer (assuming you have the free PCI slots) and do the same.

That's definitely the easiest way to do it. A simple GeForce 4 TI4200 will work fine. Mine has multiple video-OUTS, and I can duplicate the monitor, make the desktop extended, or do various other things with another monitor. Make sure to get the DVI=>VGA converter like Pragma said! NVIDIA's drivers actually come with the settings needed to make this work. It's easier than you'd think.
