hardware problem
alright heres the story.........
about 2 weeks ago i got a dvd burner, used it once, then about 2 days later my hard drive started making a chirping sound (like the sounds it makes when its going to die) well it wouldnt boot anymore, so since its under warranty i got a replacement one 2 days ago. i got that formatted, instaled with XP, etc etc everything was fine. then just last night it started to do the same thing again with the new hard drive!!! i tried unhooking stuff... i can get the PC to boot into windows but it takes about 15 minutes to boot and is incredibly slow, sometimes it wont get into windows, it will just get stuck on scandisk.. any ideas? |

double check to make sure that the sound is coming from the hard drive. (ie, unhook anything and everything unnecessary from the computer like floppy drives etc..)
