Direct X/Keyboard issue:
My computer is experiencing a bit of stalling and hiccupping within the last 24 hours. What I have done is reinstalled McAfee Virus scan, and cleared a number of worms that were plaguing my IE cache.
Since then, my computer has been obnoxiously stalling, hiccuping, and stutterring, whenever I am running a high-intensive use of DirectX program. For example, while running nesticle, I was moving mario along, and in order to do so, held the right arrow button down to make him move... Every time I held the key down, the system would stall, eventually stop completely, and then as soon as i lifted my finger from the key, everything woudl start again. The same thing is true for starcraft. When navigating with the arrow keys around the map, My terminal stalls, then freezes until I take my fingeer off the arrow key. It will hiccup if I type a message to somebody in game, for each key I type.. very brief, but very much a hiccup. I have run scan disk again, I have run AdAware, I have run my Virus Scanner, and I am in the process of *thinking* of reinstalling DirectX. Are there any suggestions that anyone can provide me with that might give light to this sudden frustrtion? Thank you in advance. |

i'd suspect mcafee first, the performance viewer should tell you whats going on,.
go to control panel system adminstration load performance delete the counters then add all the counters for "Process" and "All instances" checked, hen select the first 3 % counters from the list, add them and watch whos eating up time |
