Gaming Computer Interfaces...

I have a computer built solely for gaming on the big screen tv in the living room.

In between popcorn, hotdogs and spilling root beer on the new carpet, I am getting something new and want users opinions.

My gamer uses an xp3200, 1.5gb Corsair XMS, couple of Maxtor 120 sata striped drives on a SOYO KT600 and a GeForce FX5900 Ultra 256 displayed on a Sony 36"HDTV Monitor.

I pre-ordered Lock on Air Combat and recieved it yesterday. In the box was a coupon for this nifty thing.

Anyone ever use it? Does it work as advertised?

Never heard of it, but Im not sure how well it would work--it seems like you would need to stay awfully still in order not to throw the IR camera off. Do a google search for some reviews, see if anything comes up.

Never heard of it? Then why respond?

If I move my head it might throw it off? When I move my head it will scan the screen in that direction, which by the way, is exactly what I want it to do!

Google search? I already know about it. I came to the TFP to see if there might be an informed opinion.

Thanks for trying anyway.

Exactly JStrider. I have two of the games that it supports. When my pre-ordered game arrived, the coupon was in the box ($30.00 off). I checked it out on their website and it looked cool. I figured (rationalized) that Christmas is coming, someone needs this as a gift.

I hope it's me. (It is me, I ordered it) But!!!, my grandson and I can buddy up and spend time together!*

I was just wondering if anyone here had some first hand experiences with it.

*the rationalizing.

I saw one of these types of things a year ago at an Everquest Fan Faire.... it was iffy just to move around in EQ, and by god it strained your neck. Unless they've improved the goofball rating (i.e. your head twitches and u do a 360 or something) I wouldn't touch it, try before you buy would be my advice

Jesus man, cool out. I try to help and you blow your stack...

What I was saying is that you would have to stay very still *other than your head movements*. For example, if you shifted your body a little to one side, I would suspect that it would move you out of the IR beam, or at the least throw its alignment off.

Yikes!

It is a good thing that you ordered it, cause when it arrives you can give us all first-hand experience on how well it works! I mean, and if it is shit, wrap it in the comics section and pawn it off as a christmas gift! Just hope that the person you are giving it to has 1 of the 8 games, and does not fly off the handle as easily as you, or you might be in trouble! Oops!

OK, I had that coming.

I wanted to hear from users of the product.

As far as flying off the handle, I wanted to know if the product would track my bald head flying off said handle.

Anyway, it looks like several weeks before it will be shipped.

When I receive the unit, I will let you know.
