Grats, I love RH 9.0, my only beef is WineX is way to buggy and I can't play my games, so I have to stick with Windows XP ;/

Hardware or software raid?
You have the drivers compiled into the kernel?
You have NTFS support compiled in?

its hardware... its part of the motherboard... its an asus a7v333 with the Promise MB FastTrak133 "lite" Bios version 2.00.1.23 RAID

my friend helped me compile in the NTFS support.... but we dont have any kind of driver compiled in... i couldnt find any drivers on the promise site...

EDIT: i found some drivers for linux on the ASUS site...
but on the support list it has Red Hat 6.2, 7.0,7.1...not 9... would it be fine to install these or do they need to be 9?

I tried to install the drivers and it told me "The module you are trying to load (ft.o) is compiled with a gcc
version 2 compiler, while the kernel you are running is compiled with
a gcc version 3 compiler. This is known to not work."

What kernel version did you compile?

Also, you will want to compile the drivers into the kernel WHILE you are configuring it. I think its in the "ide, ata and atapi block devices" section.

Most drivers are already in the source, ready to be compiled. No need to go get them from the site. (Video drivers are an exception)

Not sure how stable it is as of 2.4.20....but its worth a shot.

Cool, I installed Mandrake 9.1 on an old Toshiba laptop, and everything works ok except it hangs whenever I try to start pcmcia, which is the only way I can get online..
