RHCE Does anyone have it? What is it worth?

RHCE (red hat cert) i am getting ready to start a class for this "Program"

But even though i am going for programing and red hat is very Programming Friendly. How will this benifit me, if i want to go into a more Windows enviroment?

I am currently studing as well, to get my MCSE and be another DIME A DOZEN unable to find a job LOL.

of course more certs and more Education can always be helpfull.

Basically: I want to get my MCSE but i have a RHCE class at t he same time....
Should I:
1) Study BOTH and get both exams? <-- How will this help?
2) Just get my MCSE and just pass the RHCE class?

thanks in Advance

P.S. i did a search for RHCE and all i could find was THIS

Get one then the other, not both at the same time, more to confuse. Keep the seperate so that commands don't get confused.

Hell I'm a unemplyed geek myself. MCSE, MCSA, MCP, A+, N+, ISCET, working towards CCNA........

Im an RHCE but only because I was required to become one at my previous employer. I did it in the Red Hat 7 days and it was a week long class. Im not sure what kind of class you'll be going through but the training I went through at Red Hat was basically a quick week long overview and then the test. If you didnt have any kind of basic Red Hat/general linux experience it would be kind of rough for you.

If you have some experience with Red Hat I say go for it. If you dont have any experience with it you'll probably have to do a lot of out of class reading/research/practicing in order to make it through the RHCE exam.

All in all I think its a valuble certification to have and definately puts you a few cuts above all the MCSE's out there. Linux is becoming more widespread everyday.

If you awnt to be a programmer, then take some programming classes at your local college. Teach yourself more when you're done with the homework. And instead of Systems Administrator certs, get a few programming certs. This all depends on what type of company and what type of programming you want to do. Basically, all certs are good to get you in the door of a company. Some cmopanies may actually care about these certs but, in my experience, most will not. It does demonstrate that you have motivation however.
