A laptop-sized system for a desk PC.
So, it goes like this. The case mods in my other thread have me inspired, and I have a DVD player that I don't want lying around.
Problem is, it's 3 times thinner than my PC is wide, and negligably wider than my PC is high. So 3 times less space. And this can mean only one thing - laptop components. Now, my question - can I get a laptop-sized fit for a system that has all the usual connectors out the back? Bear in mind that a normal motherboard would take up about 3/4 of the length and most of the height of the back panel without any additional components. I'll see if I can get any pics up. |
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to maybe look into some equipment made for 1U rackmount boxes. They are made to be very slim. They might be too wide, but I would look into it anyways.

Those things tend to be used for servers, yes? In that case, I don't think that they'll have any reasonable graphics solutions. I intend for this to be a LAN-party capable PC, which means a decent graphics card is a must.
But many thanks for your help, it's appreciated. |
1Us can take AGP cards no problem , usually with a riser

And for that matter, its not like you are going to get a good graphics solution with laptop components. |
