Best case mod ever?
I think this one wins.
|
It may well do, but the picture are not visible.
Check out the current month's edition of Wired magazine. They have an article on some pretty cool Case Mods. Mr Mephisto |

I especially enjoy those SATA Hard Drives being chromed and the CD-ROM and DVD-ROM being chromed as well. This guy is amazing. You guys have to check out this mod. Everything is chromed out, even the PSU. -Lasereth |

HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF GOD
That one takes the cake. I dont think Ive ever seen anything like that... Absolutely incredible. |
Best overall mod, ever.
The Y-Box. Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System (8-bit), Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, Sony PlayStation 2, and a custom PC all in one. |

But the pictures are all replaced with a "Sorry, but bit-tech.net does not allow hyperlinking of pictures..." banner or something. Bah. Mr Mephisto |
I have some neons on my computer, does that count?
|
That has to be the best mod I have ever see. The attention to detail is just insane.
|
I uploaded some pictures since Bit-Tech isn't very excited about sharing their bandwidth:

I just keep staring at it. :) -Lasereth |
whoa, whats the dealy with all of the chrome cables? reminds me of a sentinel.
|
there is this guy who has this pc + some console together and he has custom modded case.
http://www.mario-kart.net/challenge/media.html i've seen it at lan partys and it kicks ass. |
that thing is amazing. i can't wait to see the motherboard
|
That has be the best one I have every seen (the chrome one) he did a hell of a nice job
|
The pictures from the bit tech mod really don't do it justice. The owner went through his designing and fabrication process step by step. It was a long, fun read. He has my vote.
|
Incredible. I've seen some pretty wild mods, but that is the by far the coolest I've seen.
|
Thats the most beautiful thing I've ever seen ::continues to drool at the marvelous site:::D
|
This mod is very interesting, dont see why you would actually want something like this to lug around to LANs, but whatever :)
http://divxstation.com/comm/thread.asp?i=16&t=25160&r=0 And here is a few more pics http://alteviltech.com/Gallery2/CaseMod But as for style, http://www.mashie.org/ That guy is a god. |
That's just beautiful...not just the uniqueness.
But it's fuckin' purty. Incredible piece of art. On a side note, I love the smilies they have on the site. Thanks for the tip. |
That is one hot computer.
One of the coolest mods I've seen was the winner in this month's Maximum PC magazine. Someone made an aquarium mod which had the computer on one side and fish on the other. You can see it here : http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/k/l/klh340/ |
Do a search of the TFP on BoCo. His addition wasn't wild or flashy, but he installed a flip cover car stereo unit on one of his 'puters.
|
jesus crap... that Yoshii Box is just amazing. That mofo just modded the hell out of that case and fit in all the next gen consoles and some old ones AND a PC. My breath has been taken away. Wow.
|
Wow, I love the chrome. If he could find a way to mass manufacture those he could make some coin. Maybe he could partner up with alienware and some chinese sweatshops.
|
Wow I am so glad you posted that link. What an incredible case mod. I don't see how a person can just envision something like that, put it to paper, then build it.
There's some other great mods on that site too, and a lot of guides to mod your own case. Anyone know of any other sites that have guides on modding, preferably with better pictures and maybe some beginners guides to the electrical systems? |
I don't know diddly about computers and "mods", but the clear one with the chrome is pretty spectacular looking...
Do people only do this kind of thing to computers, or do they also do it to monitors, printers, keyboards, etc...? |
They do it to just about anything they can get their hands on. I've even seen mods for a mouse pad to make it glow and one where they put a touchpad mouse, some usb slots, and a memory card reader all into a keyboard. So many good mods are out there, I can't wait till I can start doing my own :)
|
New pictures I uploaded from Bit-Tech (this thing keeps getting more amazing):
