SATA
Last night my supervisor and I were talking about new motherboards and the A-Bit board he was looking into for his newest upgrade. One of the features was SATA and SATA RAID (0,1). Unfortunately in the last year or so, I've gotten really far out of the loop of cutting edge new hardware. So I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with this new type of HDD.
When comparing the new HDD prices between ATA and SATA, the prices were very similar for similar performing specs. So what are the perks / cons of this new technology. Thanks in advance. Gigawatz |

Performance wise, I cant really tell the difference between SATA and ATA drives. The cables are a lot easier to work with, take up less room, so air flows better in the case. The performance technically is better on SATA, but its not night and day.
I hope this helps a little |
