Google DeskBar
Deskbar
Key Features: Search using Google, even when your browser isn't running Preview search results in a small inset window that closes automatically Access Google from any application by typing Ctrl+Alt+G Use keyboard shortcuts for multiple Google searches, i.e., Google News (Ctrl+N),Google Images (Ctrl+I), or Froogle (Ctrl+F) I always keep a task bar at the top of my screen (with autohide turned on) that has an address bar and my computer. I always wanted to put the google toolbar up there but couldn't. With the deskbar it works perfectly. |
Thanks for the post! I didn't know Google released this.
I have an IE address bar in my taskbar so I can get to sites quickly. I'm not sure if I'll use the Deskbar because you can do searches from the IE bar. I never did find out the proper syntax but this is what works for me: search <search text> This brings up IE with Google's search results. I made Google my default search engine in IE's preferences but Yahoo would work just as well. |
No way, I emailed Google last year asking them if it was possible to get something like that...
I'd like to fool myself into thinking that I was somewhat responsible for this... (I doubt it though ) That was before I starting using something other than IE though, so now it's not as big of a deal. |
looks like a good program, ill have to try it out.. if it is as good as google toolbar 2.0, then it is almost godly..

Wow this is great! I just installed it and I like how fast it is and how you don't have to have a window open to search or for the results. The only problem I have with it so far is that I'll type something in and hit enter then forget that I did the search for like 10 minutes while i'm doing something else.
