playing video on both monitors...

ok well ive got a gforce4 ti4400, and winxp... ive got it setup so i can watch movies on the tv... but it will only display the movie if the TV is the primary monitor...

id like to be able to have the TV as the secondary so i can still use my computer while the movie is going... all the new windows and all that open on the primary and interfere with the movie....

is there anyway to make it not matter which monitor is the primary and whitch is the secondary?

There's an easy way to do this with standard NVIDIA drivers. Go into the display properties on your desktop, and do the following: make sure the Full Screen Device is set to Secondary Display and make sure Zoom Control is set to Video Overlay. On top of that, make sure the nVIEW mode is set to Clone. After that's done, plug your AV into the TV, and play any movie fullscreened. That's how I do it, anyway! That allows a movie to be playing on the TV even if the person on the computer is talking on AIM or something. Good luck!

If you want to be able to minimise things you could activate DualView - so each monitor is treated as a separate device; and send windows over to it as necessary.

Personally, I really like the clone option. I have an 8m extension cable and have the other monitor over by my bed for watching TV and movies.

We've tried every option known to man with the TV-OUT deal, and none of them work for me and my brother except the one I described. Everything else always has weird scrambling issues.

Ah, sorry - I'm using 2x monitors; I assumed it would be similar for monitor + TV. What kind of scrambling issues? Copy protection-related, or just computer f-up?

i tried with the dualview and it would make the monitor resolution unuseably small...

i've been using ultramon and its worked perfectly. You can just asign a hotkey to switch a monitor on or off. Best 20 bucks i ever spent
