FLAC audio

does anyone have any experience with this audio format? a few bands have started selling live shows online in FLAC and mp3 format and i'm looking to buy. from the reading i've been doing FLAC seems vastly superior, but i'm wondering if i'll have any trouble burning it to regular audio cd's. i don't need any more coasters. i've been reading up on it here and it souds great but i'm looking for real user feedback. anyone?

this is the only format I use now for archiving and everything else after using APE for many months. If you want to burn a standard redbook audio CD, then one of the easiest ways is to use a program like dBpowerAMP to convert the flac files to standard wavs first.

edit: here is a brief discussion on hydrogenaudio that might be useful.

FLAC is lossless audio compression, but opensource and GPL'd, and inspired from the popular Shorten (SHN) program.

Basically it's the full quality of the cd that it came off of.

To burn it, simply convert it to .wav

You shouldn't have any problems..
