Yahoo! IM
I was curious if there is a way to view someone that's on Yahoo! Instant Messenger while they are in invisible mode.

However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V." - V |

Far as I know, nope, not nowadays.
In the old days when IM was in it's infancy there were numerous ways to get any and all of anyone's IM info but things are a lot tighter now. Best I can suggest is - if the person has cable/adsl and a static IP, you could ping their IP to know if their comp is switched on. Or just learn to trust a little :-)
