Can't play avi's
I have a couple clips that are avi files, But all I get is sound with no picture.
Anyone know where I could download the proper codec to play avi files? Thanks in advance. |
1. get GSpot - http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
will give you info on the codec(s) used..you could have a weird one. 2. can you play any avi's? or do you only have these couple? once you run GSpot onnit, then make sure you get the rite codec(s) in. for experienced users, i'd suggest a look in the downloads section of doom9.org. for less experienced users, i've heard the kazaa lite codec pack is good. whatever you do, do not install Nimo codec pack. (unless you want to potentially screw everything up) good luck! :) |

Follow the steps below on how to properly install the DivX Software to fix all DivX & XviD problems including the infamous "Green Screen". 1. Uninstall all DivX and XviD Software & Codecs. 2. Reboot your system. 3. Install the DivX Software. 4. Install the Nimo Codec Pack. -First under the DirectShow Filters, uncheck "Ffdshow DirectShow". -Then hit "Next" until installation is complete. 5. Install uManiac's XviD Root. 6. Install the SMR Patch. 7. Restart your PC and that should do it... I have not had any video give me problems since. |
Thanks guys...There playing now.

dont just go downloading every codec on the net, some of them conflict, and are bears to fix, start with divx and xvid, they are the most common, after that, if it still does not work, then ask who gave you the file waht codec it uses and get it from them.

divx.com will have what you need. just download the newest version of the free player
