I'm a Linux Newbie.
I chose Mandrake. Not based on any hard data, but because Leo Laporte told me to.....mmmmm..tv.... I've also tried Red Hat, but for a new guy like me converting from windows, I found Mandrake the most user friendly. And like fuel wrote, don't throw out the windows discs...I set up a dual boot system and so I would feel comfortable moving in between enviroments and damned if it didn't work....
